Department of Electrical Engineering, Government College of Engineering Nagpur

 


 

The Department of Electrical Engineering was established in 2016 i.e. since beginning of Government College of Engineering Nagpur. A full time B.Tech (Electrical Engineering) programme with an intake of 60 and affiliated to RTM Nagpur University Nagpur is being run by the department. With a vision to produce the globally competent Electrical Engineers to cater the ever challenging needs industries and society, the department is striving a lot to excel in all areas electrical engineering. The main strength of the department is meritorious students and well experienced faculty.  As a result of combined efforts of all, the department has produced approximately 200 Electrical Engineering Graduates since 2020. Amongst the passed out batches of B.E. (Electrical), many of the students secured top ranks. The students of this department have been excelled not only in academics but in co-curricular and extra-curricular activities. The main outcome of the department can be measured in terms of the placements of students at higher pay-packages in various corporate and industry sectors such as INFOSYS, TCS, ADANI Power, Reliance Power, TATA MOTORS, Siemens India and many more. In addition the students of Electrical Engineering Department got admitted in National Institutes of repute such as IITs, NITs, IIMs etc. for PG Education. Also few of the students could secure admissions in Universities abroad for Master’s Programme. The department also undertakes many research projects sponsored by both the government and the industry. The Department has successfully organized various STTPs and FDPs. Electrical Engineering Student Association (EESA) has organized various technical, social and professional activities in the last four years. Department is striving to develop the laboratories with modern equipment and software. Accordingly it is planned to procure various advanced equipment and software which will be required in future. Also it is planned to improve the infrastructural facilities for the department. These additional facilities will be essentially used for the start of new PG programmes and extending the technical support to industry and society.
