Department of Electronics and
Telecommunication Engineering
Department of Electronics and
Telecommunication Engineering was established in 2016 i.e. since commencement
of Government College of Engineering, Nagpur. The college is affiliated to Rashtrasant
Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University, Nagpur. Department has a full time Bachelor
of Technology in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering programme
with sixty students intake.
With a vision to produce the globally competent
engineers catering the ever challenging needs industries and society, the
department had been attempting to surpass in all areas of Electronics and
Telecommunication Engineering. The department has got meritorious students and
experienced teachers. Faculty members have more than 300 research
publications to their credit with granted patents and global visibility.
Department emphasize on the overall
development of students. Existence of Electronics and Telecommunication
Students’ Association (ETSA) with other professional bodies provide a platform
to students to interact with technocrats, industrialist and alumni. It provides
a very good platform to students for organizing various events including
non-technical, discussion forums facilitating opportunity to enhance their
analytical, technical, extracurricular skills, etc. The students have been
excelled not only in academics but in co-curricular and extra-curricular
activities with outshine. Among the admitted students many held university
rank and highest grades. Organisation of annual
industrial visits with internship for the students assist them to get
first-hand experience of the industry. The students received job
placements in various corporate and industry sectors such as Adani, L&T,
Zoho, Sony, InfoSys, TCS and many more. In addition, they got admissions in
Institutes of National importance and Universities abroad for higher education.
The department also undertakes research
projects, sponsored (financed) by both the Government and
the industry. It has successfully organised various sponsored
training and development programmes. It is planned to improve the
infrastructural facilities for the department. These additional facilities will
be essentially used for the start of new post graduate programmes, establishment
of Centre of Excellence and extending the technical support to industry and
society.
